Homecoming 5k Results

Bluffton University hosted its second annual Homecoming 5K and Family Fun Walk on Oct. 2, 2026, as part of its Homecoming weekend celebrations.

Spiritual Life Week Forum

Dr. Joy Vaughan, assistant professor of New Testament at Asbury University, will present "The Phenomenal Phenomena: Biblical and Multicultural Accounts of Spirits and Exorcism."

The conservation project will focus on professionally preserving “The Trumpet Player,” allowing Bluffton to address the sculpture’s conservation needs while maintaining its place as part of the university’s campus environment.

Art Restoration

Bluffton University has been recommended for funding through the State Library of Ohio's LSTA Conservation and Preservation Grant program to support conservation work on "The Trumpet Player."

Athletics tickets are half price for Community Day, and children age 12 and under receive free admission. Tickets can be purchased at www.bluffton.edu/tickets

Fall Community Day

Bluffton University will welcome students, families, alumni and community members to campus Saturday, Nov. 7, for Fall Community Day.

The event also gives students an opportunity to experience the personalized approach that is central to a Bluffton education. Following the academic sessions, students and families can tour the campus and enjoy lunch with Bluffton faculty before an optional tour of the university’s Nature Preserve.

Health Science and STEM Day

High school students interested in health sciences, natural sciences, technology, engineering and mathematics will have the opportunity to explore their interests firsthand during Bluffton University's Health Sciences and STEM Day.

Alumni Awards

Bluffton University recognized three individuals for their outstanding commitment to vocation, community and the university during the President's Banquet Saturday, Oct. 3.

For Bluffton, the recognition comes as the university continues to invest in both the student experience and access to a Bluffton education.

Creation Forum

Rev. Douglas Day Kaufman, Mennonite pastor and Anabaptist Outreach Specialist for Faith in Place, will present "Finding Good News in Creation."

The panelist included Bill Herr ’63, retired chaplain at Mennonite Memorial Home; Shannon Thiebeau ’15, staff chaplain at OhioHealth; Eliza Wertenberger ’07, fetal center chaplain at Nationwide Children’s Hospital; and Phil Wiechart ’01, senior well-being specialist at Corewell Health.

NetVUE Chaplaincy Panel

During a NetVUE panel, four alumni shared their experiences working in health care and senior living, offering students insight into the many ways a calling can take shape.

First Tuesday Forum

Bluffton University nursing major Kate Stephens '28 will present "Learning through Practice: Bridging Theory and Clinical Application."

The most popular areas of study among the incoming class include business, sport management, exercise science, education, nursing and accounting.

Dr. Lamar Nisly, professor of English, will present a faculty colloquium titled "Late Style and Hemingway's 'The Old Man and the Sea.'"

The classroom technology project was a key component of Bluffton’s Pillars of Purpose campaign, a one-year strategic campaign focused on strengthening the university and enhancing the student experience.

Classroom Technology Refresh

Donor support has allowed Bluffton University to complete a campuswide classroom technology upgrade, providing students and faculty with modern tools designed to enhance learning.

“I hope you also recognize that you aren't simply observing the state of Bluffton University. You are helping to create it,” President Sider said, addressing the work yet to be done on campus as a collaborative and open project.

Raj Biyani, chief innovation officer at Goshen College, will present "Demystifying AI Through a Liberal Arts Lens: An Introduction," Tuesday, Sept. 8.

Bourassa connected the conversation about AI to the broader importance of integrity, describing it as a value that builds trust and strengthens communities.

Bluffton University officially welcomed its 127th class during Opening Convocation. First-year and transfer students were formally welcomed to the university as Vice President and Dean of Academic Affairs Dr. Mary Robinson read their names.
