Bluffton University earns recognition in U.S. News & World Report rankings
Bluffton University continues to earn national recognition for its commitment to providing students with a personalized, supportive and affordable college experience.
In the latest U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges rankings, Bluffton is ranked No. 42 among Regional Colleges in the Midwest, No. 39 among Top Private Schools and No. 34 among Top Performers on Social Mobility, with all three rankings tied. Bluffton earned an overall U.S. News score of 45 out of 100. U.S. News evaluates colleges using multiple measures related to academic quality, student outcomes and the student experience.
For Bluffton, the recognition comes as the university continues to invest in both the student experience and access to a Bluffton education.
“We know choosing a college is a major decision for students and families, and we want students to see that Bluffton is a place where they can receive a high-quality education while being known, supported and prepared for what comes next,” said Claire Kleman, vice president for enrollment and communication. “We’re continuing to look for ways to make Bluffton more accessible and give students more opportunities to experience our campus, meet our people and see what makes this community different.”
Bluffton recently expanded its affordability initiatives, including the Visit Award, which provides eligible students with $1,000 in annual aid just for visiting campus. Students from Allen, Auglaize, Hancock, Hardin, Putnam and Van Wert counties may also qualify for the County Connect Grant, providing an additional $1,000 annually.
Bluffton has also revised eligibility for its Be A Beaver full-tuition program, expanding access to students with a Student Aid Index (SAI) of 2,000 or less who meet the program’s other eligibility requirements.
These opportunities reflect Bluffton’s broader commitment to helping students discover a college experience that combines real-world preparation with strong relationships. With an average class size of 16 and a 13:1 student-to-faculty ratio, students have opportunities to work closely with faculty and receive personalized guidance throughout their college experience.
“Rankings are one way families can learn about colleges, but we believe the best way to understand Bluffton is to experience it,” Kleman said. “Come visit, talk with our faculty and students, explore campus and ask questions. We want students to find a college where they can see themselves growing and prepare for life beyond graduation.”
