Bluffton University’s Choose Ohio First Grant offers a high-value, renewable award designed to support students like you who commit to in‑state study and key disciplines. Up to four $2,475 renewable grants are awarded each fall.

Eligibility & Requirements

To qualify for the Choose Ohio First Grant at Bluffton:

  • You must be an Ohio resident.
  • You must have a 3.0 GPA or higher (in high school or as a transfer student).
  • You need to major in a chosen discipline: e.g., nursing, change to communication sciences and disorders, dietetics/food & nutrition, biology, chemistry, pre‑medicine.
  • You must apply to Bluffton by the designated deadline Dec. 1, visit (virtually or on‑campus) by that date, and submit your enrollment deposit in time to secure the award.

 

How to Apply

  1. Apply for admission to Bluffton University 
  2. If applicable, indicate interest in the Choose Ohio First Grant.
  3. Visit campus (or attend a virtual visit) by the grant deadline to be eligible.
  4. Submit the required enrollment deposit within the timeframe given after you receive your financial aid offer.
  5. Once selected, maintain full‑time enrollment and satisfactory academic progress to renew the grant each year.

What Happens After You’re Selected

  • You’ll receive the $2,475 grant which reduces your net cost of attendance.
  • You’ll remain eligible each year if you continue in your major, keep your GPA, and enroll full time.
  • With this grant in hand, you’ll be well-positioned to focus on your major, get involved in research or internships, and graduate knowing you received meaningful financial support.
