Bluffton University FAFSA® Reminder for Parents and Students

If your student plans to attend Bluffton University between July 1, 2025, and June 30, 2026, you must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®).

Submitting the FAFSA® each year is required for students who receive federal, state or Bluffton University need-based financial aid, including federal student loans.

Important FAFSA® Deadlines for Bluffton University

Meeting deadlines is critical to receiving the maximum financial aid available:

  • Bluffton University Priority Deadline: May 1, 2025
  • Ohio State Aid Deadline (OCOG): October 1, 2025

Students who submit the FAFSA® after the priority deadline may have reduced eligibility for need-based grants, including campus-based aid.

Why Completing the FAFSA® Early Matters

Completing the FAFSA® early helps ensure your student:

  • Maximizes eligibility for grants, scholarships and loans
  • Receives financial aid offers sooner
  • Avoids delays in tuition payment or course registration

The FAFSA® is the primary way colleges determine eligibility for federal, state and institutional financial aid programs.

How to Complete the FAFSA® (Step-by-Step)

  1. Visit studentaid.gov to begin the FAFSA®
  2. Log in using your FSA ID and password
  3. Complete all required sections, including student and parent information

What You Need to Complete the FAFSA®

To complete the 2025–26 FAFSA®, you will need:

  • Federal tax information
  • FSA ID for both student and parent(s)

Students and parents must also consent to transfer IRS tax data; without consent, federal and state aid cannot be awarded.
