- 9 a.m., Check in and continental breakfast, Kreider Room, Marbeck Center
- 9-9:30 a.m. - Welcome and opening remarks, Kreider Room, Marbeck Center
- 9:30-10:45 a.m. - Writing workshop, Kreider Room, Marbeck Center
- 11-11:50 a.m. - Forum presentation by author Melissa Herrera, Yoder Recital Hall
- Noon- 1p.m. - Lunch
- 1-2 p.m. - Student activities or Q&A with author Melissa Herrera
About the English Festival
The English Festival is a one-day campus experience designed for high school students.
Each year, the festival features a distinguished guest author who shares insights into the writing process, creativity and the role of literature in today’s world. Hearing directly from a working writer gives students a unique perspective on storytelling, craft and voice.
Students read a selected literary work prior to attending, creating a shared foundation for discussion throughout the day.

Note that there is no charge for this event; everything (including lunch) is free.
