Graduate Assistant for Academic Affairs

POSITION SUMMARY:

The successful applicant will work in the Education and Social Work Accredited Academic programs (20 hours a week).

Support data collection and analysis in accredited programs. Generate reports, maintain files, and monitor student completion of program requirements. Communicate with program partners. Meet weekly with program directors/department chairs.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Support Accredited Academic Programs with data collection and maintenance, generating reports, and maintaining files.
  • Communicate via email with program partners
  • Monitoring student completions of program requirements.
  • Meet weekly with program directors.
  • Additional tasks possible as the schedule permits.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to satisfactorily perform the essential duties of this job.

  • An interest in academic processes and practices in higher education.
  • Admission to a Bluffton University graduate program.
  • Proficient use in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint software.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  •  Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Attention to details.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Integrity and honesty in conveying program information and honoring student and program confidentiality.
  • Support of the Bluffton University mission and vision.
  • Optional attendance at student orientation/registration events.

Degree obtained:
  • Master of Arts in Education (MAEd)
  • Master of Business Administration (MBA)
  • Master of Nutrition and Dietetics (MND)
  • OR Master of Social Work (MSW)

COMPENSATION:

Full tuition waiver with competitive stipend, room and board.
