Owen Pompey
Major: Accounting and economics double major
Hometown: Lancaster, Ohio
Graduation year: 2028

Why did you choose Bluffton?

I chose Bluffton because of the tight-knit community, small class sizes and the ability to get one-on-one teaching from the professors.

Why did you choose your major? Are your classes helpful?

I chose accounting because I am fascinated with how money moves across accounts, and  I choose economics because it is important to know how inflation and interest rates can affect a business. It’s also important to know how to strategize when certain circumstances happens in the market. My classes are very helpful for my future career.

What type of job do you want following graduation? What are your career goals?

I would like to get into consulting because it’s a mix of both of my degrees.

What student organizations are you part of? Why is it important for you to be active on campus?

I am apart of investment club. I think it’s very important to be active on campus because it helps you expand your social network. You can also learn from people that have the same interests as you.

Are you a student-athlete? If so, which sport(s) do you play, and what is the best part of being on a team at Bluffton?

I am no longer a student athlete, but I used to play baseball at Bluffton. I am still close with everyone on the team, and they still treat me as if I am part of the team. Being on a team at Bluffton means everyone is not only your teammates, they’re your brothers and will always be there for you.

Is there anything else about being a student at Bluffton that you would like to share?

It’s an amazing place to help improve your future and better you as a person.
