Keylee Goerss
P-5 early childhood and K-12 intervention specialist double major
Oxford, Ohio
Graduation year: 2028

Why did you choose Bluffton?

I chose Bluffton because the community was smaller and very welcoming. Bluffton has a welcoming factor to it that many other colleges do not. I also chose Bluffton for their golf program.

Why did you choose your major? Are your classes helpful?

I choose to pursue an education major; the classes are very different and all the professors are very helpful. Becoming a Scholar my freshman year was super helpful.

What type of job do you want following graduation? What are your career goals?

I would like to either teach kindergarten or be a high school intervention specialists. My career goals are to get into a school that supports me and allows me to support my students, and maybe one day go to a technology school to teach.

Tell us about Bluffton’s faculty, staff, and coaches. Are they helping you reach your goals?

My professors are very helpful and explain everything. They are always up to answering a question at any time. My golf coach this year has made golf fun and has helped me when I have struggled.

What student organizations are you part of? Why is it important for you to be active on campus?

I am a part of Delight Ministries and am a President's Ambassador. I feel that it is important to be active on campus so you make new friends and have a different support system when you need it.

Are you a student-athlete? If so, which sport(s) do you play, and what is the best part of being on a team at Bluffton?

I play golf for Bluffton. The best part of being on the team is knowing that you have friends when you come to campus, and they can show you everything around Bluffton.

Have you completed an internship or other hands-on learning experience? Tell us about it and what you learned from that experience.

For teaching, I have been able to go into classrooms and interact with the students. I get to see how the teacher is teaching and learn great ways to better my own teaching.

Is there anything else about being a student at Bluffton that you would like to share?

Bluffton is a great community and a great place to spend 4 or more years at.
