Why did you choose Bluffton?
I chose Bluffton because it felt like a second home. I love how small the community is and how personable all the professors and staff are.
Why did you choose your major? Are your classes helpful?
I chose my major because it really intrigued me to learn how and why we say the sounds we do, and to be able to help others learn how to pronounce sounds correctly. The classes I have taken so far have been very helpful and increased my interest in this major.
What type of job do you want following graduation? What are your career goals?
I want to become a licensed speech pathologist and get a job working with children either in a school setting or at a pediatric clinic. My career goals involve getting a job I love, and one that will provide for myself and family.
Tell us about Bluffton’s faculty, staff, and coaches. Are they helping you reach your
goals?
The faculty and coaches on campus are a big reason I made the choice to attend Bluffton. As a student athlete, I am surrounded by constant support. They all work together to ensure I have the support I need to reach my goals.
What student organizations are you part of? Why is it important for you to be active
on campus?
As a first-year student, a commuter, and an athlete, I haven’t yet explored many student organizations. However, many have gotten my attention like Delight Ministries. A few teammates and I made the decision to start our own Bible Study to work around our schedules and it has helped me so much! I also feel like involving myself into campus organizations will help me to feel more connected on campus. Being active on campus is important to me because building meaningful relationships with those around me has been one of my favorite parts of the Bluffton experience.
Are you a student-athlete? If so, which sport(s) do you play, and what is the best
part of being on a team at Bluffton?
I play basketball, and the best part about being on a team at Bluffton is the relationships built with my teammates.
Is there anything else about being a student at Bluffton that you would like to share?
Being at Bluffton has been a meaningful experience because of the supportive environment and the people. It has helped me grow personally and academically.
