Meet the 2025-26 President’s Ambassadors
Trevor King
Medical laboratory science major
Pettisville, Ohio
Graduation year: 2028
Why did you choose Bluffton?
I chose Bluffton because I was already familiar with the campus, I liked the small
hometown feel, I was offered a great financial package and the major I was interested
in was offered.
Why did you choose your major?
I chose my major because I am extremely passionate about science and, when I heard
about this major, I did my research, and the job descriptions and everything else
about the job sounded like what I wanted to do. A bonus is that I do not have to go
to graduate school but rather take classes the summer after graduation to fulfill
the major.
The classes I am currently taking are good, but they are just introductory classes.
Starting next year I will be taking classes I will use in my job every day.
What type of job do you want following graduation?
The job I am currently aiming for is to be a lab technician who does lab work for
a hospital. I have not thought much about career goals yet, but I do want to get into
leadership roles over time as my experience grows.
Tell us about Bluffton’s faculty, staff and coaches.
The Bluffton faculty and staff are an incredibly supportive group that is here for
the students and are willing to go out of their way if students are struggling or
just need to talk. I believe the encouragement given by the faculty and staff here
at Bluffton gives me the boost I need to strive for my goals.
What student organizations are you part of?
While I am not officially a part of any student organization I am heavily involved
with chapel and ministry on campus. It is important to be active on campus because
that is one of the best ways to meet and form relationships with different people
you may have never interacted with.
Is there anything else about being a student at Bluffton that you would like to share?
One of the best parts of being a Bluffton student is that there are so many resources
for you to go to if you ever need help. The professors are willing to help, our campus
pastor is always there, other students are willing to spend time with you. There are
so many other resources set up to help you succeed as a student in a classroom and
a person as a part of a community.
