Meet the 2025-26 President’s Ambassadors
Coen North
Communication and Media and Spanish double major
Denver, Colo.
Graduation year: 2026
Why did you choose Bluffton?
I chose Bluffton because it was the only university that I toured that I could really
see myself at. No other university I toured felt as welcoming as Bluffton.
Why did you choose your major?
I chose my major because the scope of opportunities that it will offer me after I
graduate. I love my classes right now. They have taught me so much about myself and
how to grow as a person. The communication curriculum does a great job of teaching
its students where they fit in the world.
What type of job do you want following graduation?
After graduating, I plan to become a firefighter. I could also see myself working
as an interpreter for a bilingual company, using my Spanish studies.
Tell us about Bluffton’s faculty, staff and coaches.
I heavily value my professors and coaches. My professors truly care about what they
teach and care about the students’ success in their classes. My coaches also work
tirelessly to help their athletes succeed.
What student organizations are you part of?
I am a part of the Ministry Team, Spanish club and I am in the theatre program. It
is important to be active on campus because it gives me opportunities to meet new
people, to discover new interests and to expand my various skills.
Are you a student-athlete?
I am on the track and field team. My favorite part of being on the team is the lasting
bonds I have made with my teammates, and the opportunity to continue sharpening my
athletic skills.
Have you completed an internship?
I have not completed an internship or a hands-on learning experience, but I was able
to study in Mexico for a semester, which was an incredible experience. It taught me
about differences in culture, the vastness of this world, and the value of people.
Is there anything else about being a student at Bluffton that you would like to share?
I would like to share that the size of Bluffton has allowed me to engage in many extracurricular
activities that I would not have had access to at a bigger university, which makes
me grateful I came here.
