Meet the 2025-26 President’s Ambassadors
Adeline Thorn
Business administration and writing double major
Smithville, Oho
Graduation year: 2028
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE BLUFFTON?
I chose Bluffton for its smaller campus and class sizes as well as the sense of community
I felt when I visited. I also was interested in their writing program, as I had wanted
to pursue a creative writing approach that wasn’t just “English.”
Why did you choose your major?
I chose to double major in business and writing because I wanted to pursue both of
my passions and blend them together in a way I hadn’t seen before. I’m hoping a background
in both of these areas aids each other both in a professional sense and also helps
to create a well-rounded set of skills for me to be able to utilize.
What type of job do you want following graduation? What are your career goals?
I would love to pursue a career in publishing and one day own my own business. I would
also like to become a published author myself.
Tell us about Bluffton’s faculty, staff and coaches.
One of my favorite parts of my writing classes are my teachers, who make it their
job to keep classes interesting and fun. I love being a part of class discussions
and really appreciate their feedback on my writing. I believe they are helping me
reach my goal of becoming a writer by challenging me to put my best work forward everyday.
What student organizations are you active in?
I am a part of Delight. I think it is important to be active on campus because it
helps you find friends and other like-minded people that support you.
Are you a student-athlete? If so, which sport(s) do you play and why?
I am a part of the Bluffton women’s soccer team. The best part of being on the team is having a group of close-knit friends that work toward a common goal and share the love of the game, while also being able to have fun.
