Constitution Day Forum Recap
Bluffton University hosted its annual Constitution Day Forum at 11 a.m. on Sept. 16 in Yoder Recital Hall, with Jean-Marie Kamatali, professor and the Ella A. and Ernest H. Fisher Chair of Law at Ohio Northern University, as the speaker.
Kamatali presented “WE THE PEOPLE: The Constitution as a Legal Instrument and a Manifestation of Popular Sovereignty.”
Free and open to the public, this presentation served as Bluffton’s Constitution Day annual educational event.
All educational institutions which receive federal funds are required to offer an instructional program each year on or near Sept. 17, the day the U.S. Constitution was signed in 1787.
Constitution Day programming encouraged reflection about the role of the nation’s founding document in contemporary life. By offering this annual event, Bluffton University continued to engage students and the broader community in conversations about democracy, civic responsibility and the values that shape society.
