ONU Law Professor to Speak at Constitution Day Forum

Jean-Marie Kamatali, professor and the Ella A. and Ernest H. Fisher Chair of Law at Ohio Northern University, will speak on “WE THE PEOPLE: The Constitution as a Legal Instrument and a Manifestation of Popular Sovereignty” during Bluffton University’s Constitution Day Forum at 11 a.m. on Sept. 16 in Yoder Recital Hall.

Kamatali will explore how the U.S. Constitution functions both as a binding legal document and a reflection of the people’s evolving values. He will highlight ongoing tensions in American constitutional law, including debates surrounding immigration, social welfare and individual freedom.

This Forum is free and open to the public. Forum at Bluffton University provides a public space for interdisciplinary discovery about the personal, local and global challenges faced by students, faculty, staff and the Bluffton community.
