Bluffton University faculty member Marathana Prothro promoted to associate professor

Bluffton University Board of Trustees approves faculty promotion, reviews institutional progress 

During its June meeting, the Bluffton University Board of Trustees approved a faculty promotion and received updates on the university's academic programs, enrollment, finances and strategic initiatives. 

The Board approved the promotion of Marathana Prothro to associate professor of communication, recognizing her contributions to teaching, scholarship and service at Bluffton University. 

Trustees also celebrated the recent accreditation of Bluffton's Master of Social Work program by the Council on Social Work Education and received updates on additional academic initiatives designed to strengthen the university's educational offerings. 

The Board approved the university's annual operating budget, audit and required financial filings, reaffirming Bluffton's commitment to responsible stewardship of its resources. 

Members also received updates on fundraising efforts, enrollment, athletics, and graduate and professional education. Trustees recognized continued progress in student recruitment, alumni and donor engagement, and initiatives that support student success both inside and outside the classroom. 

In addition, the Board reviewed ongoing marketing and communication initiatives and discussed the university's long-term strategic priorities as Bluffton continues planning for the future. 

The Board meets regularly throughout the year to provide governance, oversight and strategic guidance in support of Bluffton University's mission.
