Students discuss cross-cultural experiences
Students who participated in spring 2024 short-term cross-cultural experiences spoke during Bluffton University’s Oct. 8 Forum in Yoder Recital Hall.
Experiences included the Czech Republic, Guatemala, Washington, D.C., the Ohio River Valley, and a service experience in Kentucky/Appalachia with Mennonite Central Committee’s Appalachia Build program.
“My experience to the Czech Republic wouldn’t have been possible without Bluffton allowing me to explore a culture that is different than my own, as well as how to be a responsible global citizen,” said Annie Mendenhall ’25, a middle childhood education major. “The opportunity will assist me in teaching future students on how to approach different cultures with open minds, the United States global connections and a desire to learn about the past.”
Applications open soon for spring 2025 experiences to the Czech Republic, Chicago, Tanzania, Ecuador and Kentucky.
