Bluffton rises in the ranking of top regional colleges
Bluffton University gains two spots in the top tier of Midwest “regional colleges” in the “U.S. News & World Report” rankings released today.
The 2018 edition of the magazine’s “Best Colleges” guidebook ranks Bluffton 27 among 80 comparable institutions in 12 Midwest states. Last year, Bluffton was ranked 29 of 79 comparable institutions. Now listed in the U.S. News rankings for 20 consecutive years, Bluffton has consistently been ranked in the top tier of Midwest colleges.
“Bluffton University is a place where you’ll find students and faculty creating together, where community is built on relationships and experiences prepare graduates for both life and vocation,” said Erin Burkholder, director of admissions. “We are honored to be recognized, once again, for our unique and purposeful approach to a liberal arts education.”
Regional colleges are defined as institutions that focus on undergraduate education and offer a broad range of liberal arts programs, though those programs account for fewer than half of all bachelor’s degrees awarded. Bluffton combines a strong commitment to the career skills that grow out of this broad foundation in the liberal arts, with many professional programs like business, education and nursing.
