Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

POSITION SUMMARY
The director of student success, diversity, equity and inclusion serves as an important member of the student life team in supporting student growth and development, by providing leadership in coordinating services that support student learning, persistence, success and wellbeing. The director also supports diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging initiatives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide leadership, coordination, strategic planning, support and day-to-day administration of Student Success programs and initiatives.
  • Manage and monitor comprehensive Student Intervention Platform (SIP) from Pharos.  
  • Provide response and support to SIP notifications and referrals
  • Provide ongoing training on use of the SIP program to members of university community.
  • Develop and support university diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging initiatives for students and employees (including providing regular training on these issues).
  • Coordinate wellbeing education programs for students and other members of campus community and supports other university wellbeing initiatives.
  • Coordinate the new student spring and summer orientation program.
  • Serve as an active member of the student affairs team, providing support and participation in divisional activities and meetings.
  • Responsible for special projects or activities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to satisfactorily perform the essential duties of this job.

Minimum:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Commitment to advocating and supporting students in their continued intellectual, emotional, social and spiritual development.
  • Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to solve problems and work effectively with diverse individuals.
  • Skill and comfort with technology to manage the SIP program and software.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to effectively coordinate people, activities and services.
  • Understanding in meeting the needs of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of students and employees

Preferred:

  • Master’s Degree preferred
  • Work experience in student development/student success/diversity, equity and inclusion.
  • Hold a valid driver’s license
