and Title IX Coordinator

POSITION SUMMARY:
The director of community life & Title IX coordinator serves as an important member
of the student affairs team in supporting student growth and development, serving
in roles that foster a community of respect, and create an environment that focuses
on community wellbeing through prevention initiatives, mental health support and conflict
resolution.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Actively builds and maintains a strong sense of community and belonging among students and other members of the university. Implements and supports the student conduct community standards and philosophy.
- Coordinate prevention initiatives and mental health support. Includes the development and delivery of training and education on university expectations, processes and procedures related to discrimination, hazing, drug and alcohol use, harassment and sexual misconduct.
- Respond to student mental health crises and refer accordingly. (Serve as the liaison to Virtual Care Group – online behavioral counseling)
- Provide mediation and other informed intervention to assist students in resolving conflict (restorative justice and informal resolution training.)
- Coordinate new student fall orientation/welcome program.
- Serve as the Title IX Coordinator.
- Serve as the ADA/504 Coordinator.
- Ensure university compliance with related federal and state laws and regulations.
- Provide support and coordination of commuter student services.
- Serve as an active member of the student affairs team, providing support and participation in divisional activities and meetings.
- Responsible for special projects or activities as assigned.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability
required to satisfactorily perform the essential duties of this job.
Minimum:
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- Commitment to advocating and supporting students in their continued intellectual, emotional, social and spiritual development.
- Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to solve problems and work effectively with diverse individuals.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to effectively coordinate people, activities and services
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in student personnel/higher education or related/comparable experiences.
- Mediation or restorative justice training, certification and/or experience.
- Understanding and experience with the application of trauma-informed investigation practices.
- Previous residence life staff experience (or equivalent) highly desirable.
- Hold a valid driver’s license.
