Public relations graduate assistant
- 24 months; 20 hours per week (starting Jan. 1, 2026-Jan. 31, 2028)

- S/he will be considered a salaried, non-exempt employee who will need to track their hours to ensure his/her annual hours total right around 944 hours. Flex time based on hours worked each week/month

Requirements:
- Appropriate bachelor’s degree
- Critical thinking skills with an appreciation for systems process and desire to learn about the higher education industry
- Ability to communicate effectively with publics (verbal and written)
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of student data and information
- Ability to lead projects from concept to completion.
- Ability to guide and coach direct reports in proper design principals and techniques.
- Ability to create original art or illustration.
- Detail orientation in all aspects of publication production - including ability to proofread and examine press proofs.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
Preferred:
- Experience with marketing
- Background in business, marketing, public relations/constituent relations
- Skilled in Adobe Creative Suite, video editing software, and some email campaign software knowledge.
- Experience in photography and post-production, including knowledge in Lightroom and Photoshop.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with public relations team on translating project concepts into compelling visual designs based on marketing objectives and the annual project list, including the design of digital and print materials for departments across campus, particularly Athletics, Admissions, Advancement and Student Life.
- Meet with campus clients to listen, collaborate and develop creative communication solutions that meet their goals and objectives. Establish priorities and deliver projects to assistant director of PR for integration into annual production schedule.
- Collaborates with other departments on campus to ensure high quality design standards.
- Supervises and evaluates the activities and job performance of student assistants and interns as needed.
- Provide campus community with excellent customer service.
- Other duties as assigned.
