Graduate Assistant for Multicultural Student Development and Student Success

POSITION SUMMARY:
Provides support for student success in academic, social, and personal growth as well as through the exploration of identity and belonging for all students. Promote understanding and sensitivity to the values of a diverse college community and act as a resource and advocate for campus-wide belonging and student success initiatives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Multicultural Student Development Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement programs to meet the cultural, academic, spiritual and personal development needs of all students.
- Manage the Multicultural Student Development Center space and activities.
- Serve as advisor to the multicultural student organization (MSO).
- Promote understanding and sensitivity to the values of a diverse college community.
- Promote leadership development of students through education, experience and involvement.
- Understand and address the unique needs of under-represented groups within the student body.
- Develop an outreach with organizations in Lima and Findlay.
- Serve as an active member of the student affairs team, providing support and participation in divisional activities and meetings.
- Responsible for special projects or activities as assigned.
Student Success Responsibilities:
- Provide support in administering university student success programs and initiatives.
- Assist in providing accommodation for students with documented disabilities.
- Serve as accountability coach for students who are struggling with coursework and/or study skills.
- Conduct weekly grade checks.
- Connect students with campus resources.
- Guide them in completing assignments and studying for exams.
- Responsible for special projects or activities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to satisfactorily perform the essential duties of this job.
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s degree required.
Current acceptance and enrollment in at least a 2-year graduate studies program.
DEGREE OBTAINED:
- Master of Business Administration (MBA)
- Master of Arts in Organizational Management (MAOM)
- Master of Social Work (MSW
