Assistant Professor of Social Work/Social Work Field Director

POSITION SUMMARY:
This Bluffton University faculty position will be appointed by the vice president and dean of academic affairs. The position combines teaching and administrative work.

QUALIFICATIONS:
MSW degree from an accredited social work program and a minimum of two years of practice experience required.  PhD, DSW, or ABD preferred. Should have or be eligible for Ohio’s practice license at the Licensed Independent Social Worker level.  Demonstrates effective teaching skills and practice. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:
A faculty teaching load is 23-25 credits hours with a quarter time release to administer BSW field placements. Faculty members are generally on nine-month work agreements that run from two weeks before classes begin in August through the day grades are due in May.  Occasional meetings may be needed during the summer.

SWK 264: Human Behavior in the Social Environment
SWK 301: Practice with Individuals and Families
SWK 302: Practice with Groups
SWK 401: Field Placement
SWK 404: Field Seminar

Coordinate field work including site visits with students during their field placements. 

Skill/Abilities:
Proficient with Microsoft Office; proficiency in or ability to learn Bluffton’s learning management system software (Moodle).
