Assistant professor of accounting and finance

POSITION SUMMARY:
This faculty position will be tenure or on tenure-track depending on prior qualifications. The position is responsible for teaching an array of classes, primarily undergraduate, advising students, serving faculty governance and contributing to the academic and community life of Bluffton University.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum:

  • Education and Experience: 
    • Doctorate in business-related field, CPA, MAcc, MSA; or MBA with tested experience.
    • Excellent analytical and communication skills.
  • Skill/Abilities:
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office
    • Proficiency in or ability to learn learning management system software (Moodle).

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
Primarily a sedentary position with approximately 12 hours of in-person classes per week plus attendance in meetings and other events on campus. Some occasional travel off-campus may be needed for conferences and/or off campus meetings.

COMPENSATION: 
Commensurate with education and experience within the university pay scale.
