Adjunct Professor in Graduate Programs in Education

POSITION SUMMARY:
Graduate Programs in Education seeks qualified adjunct faculty to teach graduate courses in educational leadership, literacy and/or administration. The adjunct faculty member will provide high-quality instruction that integrates theory, research, and professional practice to prepare current and aspiring education leaders.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Faculty responsibilities:
- Teach assigned courses in educational administration (e.g., educational leadership, school law, finance, policy, supervision, organizational theory, ethics and/or literacy).
- Design and deliver course instruction aligned with program outcomes, accreditation standards, and institutional policies.
- Develop syllabi, learning activities, assessments, and instructional materials consistent with approved course descriptions.
- Evaluate and provide timely, constructive feedback on student work.
- Maintain regular communication with students and hold virtual or in-person office hours as required.
- Use the institution’s learning management system (LMS) to manage course content, grading, and communication.
- Uphold academic integrity, accessibility standards, and inclusive teaching practices.
- Participate in required training, orientation, and assessment activities related to adjunct teaching
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum:
- Earned doctorate in Educational Administration, Educational Leadership, Higher Education Administration, or a closely related field (ABD will be considered).
- For Reading Endorsement classes, a Master’s Degree and K-12 Reading Endorsement are required.
- Demonstrated professional experience in K-12 literacy, educational leadership or administration (e.g., principal, superintendent, central office administrator, higher education administrator).
- Evidence of subject-matter expertise in educational administration or literacy.
Preferred:
- Higher education teaching experience, particularly at the graduate level.
- Experience with online or hybrid instruction and learning management systems.
- Knowledge of accreditation standards (e.g., CAEP, INTASC, IRA) and evidence-based leadership practices.
- Active engagement in professional practice, research, or scholarly activity.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
Primarily a sedentary position with online or hybrid teaching.
COMPENSATION:
Adjunct salary.
