Homecoming and Alumni Weekend

Homecoming and Alumni Weekend 2022 will be held the weekend of Friday, Oct. 14, and Saturday, Oct. 15, and is open to all alumni, students, faculty, staff, parents and friends of the university. Not only will we offer an exciting day on campus for all alumni and friends, but we will host class year reunions!

Everyone is invited back for Homecoming and Alumni Weekend. Save the date to enjoy campus tours, food trucks, Beaver Tail-Gating, inflatables, athletic events and friends! 

The registration fee in 2021 included the following. Stay tuned to discover cost and entry for 2022 registration:  

  • Ticket to either the football or volleyball game on Saturday 
  • Homecoming 2021 t-shirt with artwork by alumna Hannah Brown ’20
  • $5 voucher to be used at select downtown Bluffton restaurants 
  • A meal ticket for Saturday’s Food Truck Extravaganza 

Adult tickets are $25, tickets for children ages 5-17 are $15 (kids tickets include “The Dam” t-shirt), students and faculty/staff with current Bluffton ID will have access to Saturday’s activities for free! 

Any walk up registrations must be paid by credit card.

Friday, Oct. 1 
5 p.m. Back to the Village!
Explore some of your favorite Bluffton village spots! Everyone who registers for homecoming weekend will receive a $5 voucher to be used at Luke’s, Campito Lindo, The Twisted Wisk or the Dough Hook! You can also catch an evening movie at the Shannon Theater and pick up some Bluffton flavored Shirley’s popcorn! 
6 p.m. Biking Beavers Bike Tour
Join the Biking Beavers for an evening bike ride hosted by Bluffton faculty. The tour will leave from campus, travel around town and conclude at the Nature Preserve with a sweet treat! Make sure to bring your own bike and safety gear. Select "Biking Beavers" during your registration and we will be in contact with further information. 
8 - 10 p.m. Reunion Zero 
Members of the Class of 2020 and 2021 are invited back to campus for their Reunion Zero at Southgate Lanes. Enjoy bowling, an outside patio with sand volleyball courts and the chance to see your classmates! Food and drinks of your choice are available for purchase.
Saturday, Oct. 2
8:30 a.m.- 1 p.m. Check in table, Salzman Stadium 
Pick up your welcome packet including Homecoming t-shirt, Homecoming access wristband, meal ticket for the Food Truck Extravaganza and your game ticket. 
8:30 a.m.  Back to the Village! 
Back to the Village continues all day Saturday! Don't forget to use your $5 voucher and explore downtown businesses. 

8:30 a.m. - Noon Bluffton Farmers Market 
The farmers market is located in Citizens National Bank parking lot downtown Bluffton. 
9 a.m. - 3 p.m. Campus Bookstore, Marbeck Center 
Make sure to stop by the university bookstore and shop your favorite Bluffton gear.
9 a.m. Campus Tour 
Meet a Bluffton President’s Ambassador at the circle drive near Yoder Hall off of Bentley Road for a campus tour. Tours will begin promptly at 9 a.m. 
9 - 9:45 a.m. Education Induction Ceremony, Stutzman Lecture Hall
Join education faculty members as they honor students in the Bluffton education program. Diane Neal will be the keynote speaker. 
10 a.m. Campus Art Tour
Join Louise Matthews, director of the Lion and Lamb Peace Arts Center for a tour of selected art pieces around campus. This tour is designed to engage young minds but will have interactive opportunities for all ages! Meet in front of Centennial Hall. Tour will begin promptly at 10 a.m. 
10 a.m. - Noon Art Show Reception, Grace Albrecht Gallery, Sauder Visual Arts Center 
John Blosser, painter, and Ralph (TR) Steiner, ceramicist, will talk about their recent works. 
10 a.m. - 1 p.m. Reunion years and Affinity Gatherings, Salzman Stadium
Join your classmates for reunion years and affinity gatherings. Inside the stadium, we will have separate gathering spaces for the Class of 2017, Class of 2012, Class of 1972, Black Alumni Association, Education Alumni and TEAM Bluffton. 
10 a.m. - 1 p.m. Beaver Tail-Gating, Salzman Stadium
Join President Wood, alumni, students and guests for Beaver Tail-Gating. We will have activities such as cornhole, inflatables and pictures with J. Denny and Jenny Beaver! Using the meal ticket from your Welcome packet, you will be able to eat from a variety of food trucks in the Food Truck Extravaganza! All unregistered guests will pay cash to eat.
10 a.m. - 5 p.m.  Alumni Oral History Sessions, Musselman Library 
Bluffton University will soon celebrate its 125th anniversary and the Alumni Office wants to hear your stories! We are excited to offer 20 minute sessions for you to share your stories with us. All stories will be recorded. Be part of this project by selecting “Alumni Oral History” during your registration. A member of our staff will be in contact to set up a time during Homecoming weekend. Walk-in sessions are welcome and will be available on a first come, first serve basis. 
11 a.m. Volleyball Reunion Gathering, Sommer Center 
Join volleyball alumni, parents and friends for a gathering outside the Sommer center for a volleyball tailgate.
11:30 a.m.  Music Alumni Gathering, Gilliom Room, Mosiman Hall
Gather with other music alumni in the Gilliom Room. An alumni pep band rehearsal will follow beginning around 12:30 p.m. We encourage you to bring your own instrument, school instruments will be first come first serve and music will be provided ahead of time. Select “Alumni Pep Band” during the registration process and we will contact you for more information.
Noon Ultimate Frisbee Reunion, Library Lawn  
Join other Ultimate Frisbee lovers for an alumni Ultimate Frisbee game! 
1 p.m. and 5 p.m. Volleyball Game vs. Transylvania and Trine - GO BEAVERS! 
Our volleyball team will be hosting and playing in a tri match. Bluffton will face off against Transylvania and Trine. During the Homecoming registration process you can select for your ticket to get you into the volleyball game! 
1:30 p.m. Football game vs. Mt. St. Joseph - GO BEAVERS!
The 2000 Beaver football team will be honored during halftime for their HCAC conference championship.  During the Homecoming registration process you can select for your ticket to get you into the football game! 
4 p.m.  Campus Tour 
Meet a Bluffton President’s Ambassador at the circle drive near Yoder Hall off of Bentley Road for a campus tour. Tours will begin promptly at 4 p.m. 
6 p.m. President’s Society Banquet 
This invitation-only event will be held following the completion of the football game. Milestone giving awards will be presented and members of the President’s Society honored. 

Registration is required for each event so our staff can prepare.
