Why did you choose Bluffton?
I chose Bluffton because I enjoyed the feel of a small campus and the chance to get to know a lot of people. I also enjoyed the thought of small class sizes ensuring that I could get help from a professor if I needed it.
Why did you choose your major? Are your classes helpful?
I chose my major because I have always been passionate about helping others and speech pathology allows me to help people of all ages in a variety of settings. My classes are helpful in the aspect that they help me see the breakdown of my major.
What type of job do you want following graduation? What are your career goals?
After going to grad school, I would like to work in a school setting, aiming at preschool through 5th grade. My career goals are to work in a few different work settings like a school, in a hospital working with pediatrics, and maybe even a private practice.
Tell us about Bluffton’s faculty, staff, and coaches. Are they helping you reach your goals?
I believe Bluffton’s faculty, staff, and coaches are helping me reach my goals. A few professors I can think of are Tina Juarez, Christy Garmatter, and Sarah Lehman. They have made a very good personal connection with me and any time I have had a problem in or out of their classes, they are always so willing to help no matter what it is. When I played softball, coach Jansen was very willing to help with any problem I could not figure out on my own.
What student organizations are you part of? Why is it important for you to be active on campus?
I am involved in Delight, a women’s ministry group. It is important for me to be active on campus because I believe it is important to help make a difference on campus, and I also like to continue getting to know people.
Are you a student-athlete? If so, which sport(s) do you play, and what is the best part of being on a team at Bluffton?
I am no longer a student athlete. However, the best part of being on a team at Bluffton is knowing that your teammates will always have your back on and off the field.
Is there anything else about being a student at Bluffton that you would like to share?
Being a student at such a small campus has allowed me to call this place home. I have found friends for life and have created forever lasting memories.
