Bluffton University hosts competition for high school journalists

Bluffton University’s student-driven media organization “The Witmarsum” is hosting a journalism competition for high school students. To compete, submissions must be uploaded at www.bluffton.edu/journalism-competition by Dec. 11.

High school media organizations and clubs can compete for a $500 prize in the team category by submitting a portfolio of at least five pieces. Individual categories include feature story (print, online, audio or video), hard news story (print, online, audio or video), sports story (print or online), opinion piece (print or online) and news feature photography. First, second and third places in each individual category will be awarded $75, $50 and $25, respectively. There is no cost to submit an entry.

Participating clubs and students are invited to campus Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2020, for a banquet and awards ceremony. Students must be present to win.
