Bridge: Spring 2022

Bridge, spring 2022

Editor’s note

“Bridge: The Bluffton University Literary Journal,” uniquely sets out to showcase the work of 14-24 year-old authors on a national stage. Behind the scenes, it’s a dedicated team of students at Bluffton University who drive the magazine. They cast a wide net for submissions, meet, discuss the stories and assemble the magazine.

The latest issue you have before you contains whip-smart writing from an age group that (and I remember this as a writer who first published in my teens as well) is often told they’re too young to contribute to art and literature. Of course, having read hundreds of submissions by amazing young writers, we know that these writers have something powerful to say right now.

Bluffton is a peaceful, wooded campus nestled away in northwest Ohio, and it was here our student readers picked through stories sent in from all over the United States, and the world, to find the shiniest gems to share with our readers.

I’m grateful for everything that our students did on this issue, and I hope you enjoy the fruits of their hard work as well.
