FASFA reminder

This is a reminder to complete the 2024-25 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FASFA) form if your student plans to enroll between July 1, 2024, and June 30, 2025. This is an annual requirement for students who receive state-federal-institutional need-based aid and/or students and parents who utilize federal student loans.

NOTE: Bluffton's priority deadline for need-based aid is May 1, 2024. Otherwise eligible students who submit the FAFSA after May 1 may not receive need-based grant aid from Bluffton or the campus-based Federal Supplemental Education Opportunity Grant (FSEOG). Ohio has a FAFSA filing deadline of Oct. 1, 2024, for students who are eligible for the Ohio College Opportunity Grant.

Returning students

Students renew financial aid for the 2024-25 year by completing the renewal FAFSA at Studentaid.gov.

The FAFSA form for 2024-25 has gone through significant changes. There is not a renewal option – you must do a new form. The 24-25 FAFSA uses tax information from the 2022 calendar year. In addition, students (and parents, if required) MUST consent to IRS data coming over into the FAFSA. If not, no federal/state aid can be awarded.

Once filling out the FAFSA, it will ask questions about your parents. You will need their email address(es) to invite them to contribute to your FAFSA.
