Virtual choral concert

Choral concert to be held virtually

Bluffton University’s spring choral concert featuring University Chorale and Camerata Singers will be streamed for viewing at www.bluffton.edu/mus starting at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, March 28.

At 2 p.m., the conductor will do a pre-concert talk with audience members via Zoom. Visit www.bluffton.edu/mus for more information and access to the Zoom meeting.

Under the direction of Dr. Bo Young Kang, director of choral activities, the concert will feature four pieces by University Chorale, including: “Sanctus” by Jan Sandström; “The Road Not Taken” from Frostiana by Randall Thompson, “Blow Ye the Trumpet” by Kirke Mechem and “Zion’s Walls” by Aaron Copland, arranged by Glenn Koponen.

Camerata Singers will perform three pieces including: “Keep Your Lamps” arranged by Andre Thomas, “I Want Jesus to Walk with Me” arranged by Lloyd Larson and “The Dove and the Olive Leaf” by Bob Chilcott. The Chilcott piece will include Dr. Andrew Libermann, assistant professor of music, on saxophone.

Since the concert is being held virtually, free-will offerings will be taken for music scholarships at www.bluffton.edu/givetomusic.
