The importance of checks and balances
Keith Faber, Ohio Auditor of State, will speak during Forum at 11 a.m. on Oct. 22, in Bluffton University’s Yoder Recital Hall. Faber will share the presentation “Business is Better in the Sunlight.” The presentation is free and open to the public.
Using real examples, Faber will discuss the importance of checks and balances, internally and externally, to avoid fraud and corruption.
Faber’s speech will also serve as the keynote address for the Bluffton University Business Competition being held the same day.

7 p.m., Oct. 22, Yoder Recital Hall. This film describes how the city comptroller and treasurer of Dixon, Ill., embezzled $54 million from the town over 20 years. Following the screening, a panel will discuss practices for preventing fraud.
