Martin senior recital
Martin to perform senior recital
Eddie Martin, a music education major with a concentration in performance studies, will present his Bluffton University senior recital at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, April 13, in Yoder Recital Hall. The recital is free and open to the public; a reception will follow in the lobby.
Martin’s program features a saxophone repertoire written from the 1930s to 2015, influenced by styles ranging from jazz to minimalism, and even a piece adapted by the composer specifically for this recital. Pieces to be performed include Jacques Ibert's “Concertino da Camera,” Sean Heim's “When Wind Comes to Sparse Bamboo,” John Worley's “Sonata,” Marc Mellits’ “Black” (featuring Kenzie Newberry on bass clarinet) and Takashi Yoshimatsu's “Fuzzy Bird Sonata.”
The recital is presented in partial fulfillment of his requirements for graduation with a major in music.
