This formal assembly marks the official opening of the academic year. New students are welcomed into the university community by faculty, staff and returning students. 

New students are expected to be present for this important speech and returning students are encouraged to attend. Arts & Lecture credit will be offered for this event.
– Note: 9:30 a.m. classes will end at 10:20 a.m.

A Conversation with the Convocation speaker

First-year students will have the exclusive opportunity to hear from this year's convocation speaker, Dr. Beth Taylor Mack.
