Santander Station (Estación de Santander)--La Concordia

Severino Achúcarro and Valentín Gorbeña
1898-1902

A train station on the banks of the river

The general plan of this train station was apparently designed by the engineer Valentín Gorbeña and several years later the architect Severino Achúcarro designed the main facade. This station is contemporary with art nouveau works in other parts of Europe. See especially buildings in Vienna.
