20th century eclectic classicismThis building in an excellent location near the zocalo was originally constructed as a bank and has since served as a governmental palace and official building. The impressive entrance has a copula and gigantic columns extending over two floors. The sculptural ornamentation on and above the capitals as well as wall plaques on the spandrels is eccentric and exuberant. Classical Greek key and egg and dart moldings serve as accents.
