|This steel cable suspension bridge is gigantic in scale with a central span of 1595 feet--half again longer than the previous record--and a total length of more than 6000 feet. The roadbed is 135 feet above the water. The double-arched Gothic towers are 171 feet high and the bridge is 85 feet wide.|
