Humanities II:
Renaissance through Enlightenment
Mary Ann Sullivan, English & Art History
Gerald W. Schlabach, History & Religion
Humanities II is the second of three team-taught, interdisciplinary courses in the humanities sequence of the Bluffton College core curriculum. This course will cover the periods of the Renaissance, Reformation, and Enlightenment. As with all three courses in the humanities sequence, we will draw on the disciplines of history, literature, religion, philosophy, art, and music. Most readings will be from primary texts. Lectures and discussions will take up issues that have faced humankind in each age, along with values by which each age and culture lived.
