Discover yourself and your culture in new ways by interacting with the diversity of Chicago, America's "city of neighborhoods." During your three week learning experience, you'll get to know a Chicago most visitors rarely see, by volunteering three full days a week at an agency of organization within your major. Chicago Center works with all majors — even undecided!

Other days of the term are just as exciting. You'll see cutting-edge threater and be exposed to the city's rich mosaic of blues, jazz, gospel and Latino music. You'll get to know ethnic neighborhoods and experience Chicago's world-renowned cuisines in their true settings. You'll meet with the people who make the city work, and hear a stimulating range of opinions about society's pressing concerns such as public housing, affirmative action, education and the role of arts in our communities.

Students live in apartments in a diverse, bustling neighborhood, sharing cooking, cleaning and group responsibilities. All students learn how to safely use the city's busses and trains and take an urban safety workshop.
