Alternate programs
Central American Study and Service (CASAS)
Central American Study and Service, located in Guatemala City, is part of the Latin
American Anabaptist Seminary (SEMILLA). Semester and summer programs offer a variety
of emphases including Spanish, peace and justice, development, missions, sociology
and social work. CASAS provides an in-country orientation, homestays and numerous
field trips.
Council for Christian Colleges and Universities (CCCU)
CCCU offers several one-semester study programs in other countries. Locations include
Australia, China, Costa Rica, Middle East, Russia, and Uganda. Students participating
in a CCCU program will remain full-time students at Bluffton for purposes of credit
and financial aid.
Brethren Colleges Abroad (BCA)
BCA offers semester and year-long study abroad opportunities in France, Germany, Spain,
Ecuador and Mexico for foreign language majors and minors. BAC also offers study abroad
options that do not have a language prerequisite. These locations include China, England,
Greece, India and Japan.
Youth Evangelism Service (YES)
YES is a discipleship training program sponsored by Eastern Mennonite Missions. YES
includes several months spent in an urban training center followed by a missions practicum
in a cross-cultural context. Up to 15 semester hours of credit may be earned.
Reaching and Discipling Program (RAD)
Radical Journey is a one-year formational experience in cross-cultural learning
and service for young adults who desire to watch for where God is at work and imagine
ways to join in.
