Troubleshooting

Select your symptom to be taken to the section dealing with your scenario:

Phone calls come in, but I can not dial out.

If calls are coming in and you are unable to dial out, check to make sure that you see the time and date while not in a call.

  • If you can not  see the date or the time on your display, but you can see the extensions on the top portion of your screen, chances are you are in your options menu.  To fix this problem, press the button on your phone, and try placing a call.
  • If you see the time and the date, and are still unable to make calls, call the Help Desk at extension 3600 or email the problem to us.

My key pad is not working.

If your key pad is not working, check the following solutions:

  • If you can not  see the date or the time on your display, but you can see the extensions on the top portion of your screen, chances are you are in your options menu.  To fix this problem, press the button on your phone, and try placing a call.
  • Make sure that none of your keys are stuck in the down position.  If this is the case, try to dislodge the key by gently pressing it several times.
  • If you are still having trouble with your key pad not working, call the Help Desk at extension 3600 or email the problem to us.

The options menu is stuck on my screen.

If the options menu is stuck on your screen, try pressing the button located next to the arrows on your phone.  If the menu is still on your screen, please call the Help Desk at extension 3600 or email the problem to us.

I receive a shock when I pickup my phone.

If you feel static electricity when you pick up your telephone, this is due to environmental conditions.  The phone line will not shock you when you pick up the receiver.

I can not un-forward my phone.
Analog Lines:
  • If you have forwarded your telephone, dial #1 to cancel the forward.
  • If dialing #1 did not work, dial #1+(your extension).  This will forward your phone to your own extension.  This will "un-forward" your phone.
  • If you are still having trouble un-forwarding your phone, call the Help Desk at extension 3600 or email the problem to us.
Digital Lines:
  • If your display reads "CFWD" or "Calls Forwarded", press the button followed by the button.
  • If your display still reads "CFWD" or "Calls Forwarded", please call the Help Desk at extension 3600 or email the problem to us.

My phone display is blank, but my phone still works.
  • If your display is blank, unplug your phone from the phone jack and plug it back in after approximately two minutes.
  • If your display is still blank, please call the Help Desk at extension 3600 or email the problem to us.

My phone is completely dead.
  • If your phone is completely dead, unplug your phone from the phone jack and plug it back in after approximately two minutes.
  • If your phone is still dead, please call the Help Desk at extension 3600 or email the problem to us.
