Room draw is the process through which all current Bluffton University students planning to live on campus choose a residence hall, room and roommate for the next academic year.
The room draw process for 2017-18 is being reviewed.
Updated information will be posted when available.
Room draw process
If you want to stay in the same room for next year, you can complete room draw completely online in five minutes (called room nesting). There will be separate in-person room draws in each residence hall for people who want a different room in the same hall. Then there will be the traditional draw - where everybody gathers in The Commons and hopes that their chosen room/floor/hall is still available when their name is called - for people who want to change halls.
Regardless of whether you choose your room online or in person, there will be an online form that each resident must fill out to complete the process. This form will include meal plan selection. Registration for parking must be made through my.bluffton.edu under the student life tab.
This process will be explained in full during a mandatory floor meeting for all returning students. You must attend the meeting on your floor. You may lose your place in order if you skip this meeting. Look for time and place announcements on your floor.
Please note that students choosing to live in residence halls with air conditioning (Neufeld and Ramseyer) will be charged $100 additional per semester.
If you have specific questions or concerns, please consult your resident advisor and/or hall director. The student life office (x3247) is also available for questions and concerns.
Room draw happens annually in the spring.
