2012-13 Community Development Activities Requirements

The conducting of community development activities (CDAs) within the resident halls provides students with events that they may not receive education about within the classroom.  Each of your activities should be based on the values of the university.

RESPECT

  1 CDA, 1 Bulletin Board   Crash: Watch the movie and facilitate a discussion, Design a passive program encouraging environmental awareness in your hall (i.e. Bulletin Boards & Recycling Initiatives), Common Grounds Panel: Should Christians Vote? Bulletin Board on world religions

DISCOVERY

  1 CDA, 1 Bulletin Board   Invite the Career Development Center to do a workshop on deciding on a major or finding an internship, Invite a professor to present on their specialty, How to eat healthily in Marbeck

SERVICE

  1 CDA, 1 Bulletin Board   Visiting the elderly at a nursing home, Collecting blankets/coats for the homeless, Collecting non-perishable food to donate to a food shelter

  2 CDAs, 1 Bulletin Board   Superbowl Party, Euchre Tournament, Ultimate Frisbee vs. another Hall/floor, REWIND: Old school TV nights, Craft Night

  1 CDA, 1 Bulletin Board   Penny Wars to donate to a charity, Assisting buildings and grounds with cleaning and repairing the dugouts
