Campus life at Bluffton University

Why live on campus?

The benefits of living on campus go far beyond the friends you’ll make.

Living on campus

Most students live on campus which creates a close-knit residential atmosphere.

Students are constantly interacting and learning from one another in the residence halls, and, at the same time, building lifelong friendships. Living on campus is an amazing, essential part of the collegiate experience. You'll make close friends and be exposed to new and different ways of thinking.

At Bluffton University, you will experience a sense of community. One that is unique and based on respect. Through hall activities based on service, education or social outcomes, you'll be provided with an opportunity to be who you want to be. Living on campus will give you a chance to make your own discoveries.

We feel the learning that happens while living in community is so important that we highly recommend that students live on campus. Commuting students must live within a reasonable commuting distance, live with their parents or spouse or be a fifth-year senior. Exceptions to living on campus must be approved by the director of residence life.

Make your room a home-away-from-home:

Each spring new Bluffton students are asked to complete a housing questionnaire to assist the student life office in making housing and roommate assignments for the next academic year. Housing assignments are determined by the date you pay your deposit to the university.

Returning students select their roommate and room through the room draw process.

If you have additional questions about residence life, please do not hesitate to contact the director of residence life at 419-358-3247 or by email at studentlife@bluffton.edu.
