Do you need to stay on campus during break?

Here is information about staying on campus when the residence halls are closed - for instance over Christmas break. If you need housing during break, fill out the form at the bottom of this page.

Hall closing

Residence halls will close at 7 p.m. Friday, March 1. Housing during break will be provided in Ropp & Hirschy Annex for:

  • In season athletes who have practice and games
  • Student employees who will be working on campus during the break with supervisor approval
  • International students

Everyone else must move out of the residence halls by 7 p.m. March 1, 2013, for Spring Break. Halls will reopen at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 10.

Designated halls

We realize that it is inconvenient for students to move from their permanent room to temporary housing in another hall, but it is impractical to keep all of the residence halls open over the vacation periods. Thus, housing for women & men will be provided in Ropp Hall, while men will be housed in Hirschy Annex. Students who need to remain on campus that do not live in either Ropp or Hirschy Annex should make arrangements to stay in a room in the appropriate hall. Both men and women need to obtain, from the student, the room key for the room they will be staying in. Women- please be sure to get BOTH the hard key for the room & the key card for the building. For security reasons, all exterior doors will remain locked on a 24-hour basis. In addition, regular visitation hours, as listed in the handbook, will be observed. Lobbies are closed 2 a.m. -7 a.m. All campus policies will remain in effect and will be enforced over break. 

For Spring Break housing, the following online form needs to be submitted by Tuesday, Feb. 26.
