Bluffton University students are required to live in one of the university's residence halls unless they live at home with their parents and live within a reasonable commuting distance. The university is committed to the belief that living with others in a residence hall is an important part of the total educational and social experience of college life. Exceptions must be approved by the Director of Residence Life.
Living successfully in a residence hall environment requires a certain amount of understanding and responsibility of each person. It is understood and expected that students are responsible for their own actions and the activities that occur in their rooms.
