The Career Development Center offers a variety of services to students. Individual career advising, small group workshops, special programs and materials in the Career Library assist students in the various phases of career and life planning. The center is located in Hauenstein Hall.

Career Library
The Career Library is part of the Career Development Center. In addition to career interest inventories and educational testing information, the library includes videos, books and computer information on career and life planning, decision-making and the job search process, occupational and employer information, international and volunteer opportunities. Openings for full-time, part-time and summer work positions are posted through the center.

Credentials
Credential files for all students may be established in the Career Development Center. A complete file for general candidates includes a current resume, three or more letters of recommendation and a candidate’s page (optional). For teacher candidates, the file includes a current resume, five or more letters of recommendation and a candidate’s page (optional). Credentials are sent to prospective employers at the request of the student or employer.

Graduate school
The Career Development Center offers assistance in the application process for graduate school. School directories, GRE bulletins and general information are available in the Career Library. Students considering graduate school are also encouraged to talk with their faculty advisor.

Job search
All students are encouraged to make use of the job search services offered by the Career Development Center. These include seminars and handbooks on job search skills, resume writing and interviewing techniques. Employer recruiting is facilitated via consortium events, on-campus recruiting and through our new on-line networking tool. Connect with job and internship opportunities  through the Career Development Center Web site, www.bluffton.edu/studentlife/career/. Resumes
The Career Development Center provides a resume critique service for all students. Resume guidelines and workshops are available to help students develop an effective resume.

Summer jobs
Information on a variety of summer jobs is available in the Career Library. Information about summer jobs on-campus is available in the financial aid office.
