Health, physical education and recreation are fields in which the focus is on the design, management, implementation, supervision, expansion and necessity of recreational and leisure-time activities for individuals and groups of all ages and backgrounds. Recreation and leisure-time study encompasses a broad range of events and activities related to camping, natural resources, outdoor activities, tourism, amusement parks, sporting events and community recreation programs. A few of the many specialties within these growing fields are gerontology, youth organizations, parks and forestry, public recreation, commercial enterprise, therapeutic recreation, professional sports, resource management, recreation and parks administration.
