The Bluffton University Career Development Center is committed to assisting students and alumni in the career exploration and job search processes. The Career Advisory Network (CAN) has assisted numerous students, just by linking them with Bluffton University alumni. This program allows students to ask career-related questions of professionals in a safe and comfortable environment. Students are able to gather first-hand career information and network with alumni volunteers.
As a part of this network, you will be considered a valuable resource to current Bluffton University students, who may contact you in regards to your educational and career-related experience. Since 1995, the Career Advisory Network has connected numerous students with Bluffton University Alumni for the purposes of career exploration and networking. As a successful alumnus, you have valuable insight to offer students as they decide on a major, select a graduate program, or search for the perfect job. You may also provide information about your city, as students are often seeking relocation advice.
If you would like to participate in this program, please click on the link above right to download and print the CAN form. Please complete and return it to the address below, or simply e-mail the completed form as an attachment to Kathy Dickson, dicksonk@bluffton.edu.
Your information will be added to the database for students to access at their convenience. Individuals will potentially contact you directly, for the purposes of career exploration and networking. You may volunteer to assist the students by any of the following suggestions:
*Speak with students about their career and/or the pursuit of an advanced degree.
*Assist students in understanding how their experience at Bluffton relates to life after graduation.
*Talk with students about geographic relocation.
*Refer students to job leads.
*Provide information about job openings to the Career Development Center.
*Participate in seminars and workshops.
CAN volunteers simply speak with students about their own Bluffton University experience and career path since graduation. Volunteers who are contacted by students or fellow alumni will have the opportunity to truly help a fellow member of the Bluffton University family- and may in turn benefit from the resource in the future!
NOTE: If you have participated in this program in the past, please feel free to update your information by completing the current form.
