156,000 bricks ... 416 tons of steel ...
787 data/phone ports ... 626 student seats ... 75 student computers
... four floors ... 38 faculty offices ... 16 classrooms. Centennial
Hall, dedicated in September 2000, has become the focus of the
Bluffton College campus.
"Most
would say the best feature of Centennial Hall is the technology
access it provides to both faculty and students. But I would suggest
that the center's best feature is the fact that it draws the campus
together. Some departments that had previously been scattered
all over campus are now together in one huge building, which seems
to be convenient for everyone. It helps to reinforce the 'community'
atmosphere that BC tries to create."

This academic center includes a range
of classrooms, from intimate seminar rooms to a 120-seat amphitheatre
and high tech resource center. Students can access digital tools
and networked resources in every classroom. Five classrooms are
equipped with digital presentation systems that allow instructors
to project course materials from network files, websites, CDs
or a digital video camera stand and to save material produced
during class to the campus network.
The Technology Center includes work zones
for personal computing, multimedia development and collaborative
projects.
