Bluffton blank Mount St. Joseph in HCAC action

BLUFFTON, Ohio – The Bluffton University women’s tennis team (2-7, 2-4) picked up their second win of the season shutting out Mount St. Joseph 9-0.

Junior Lisa Cherry (Waterville/Anthony Wayne) won her No. 1 singles match 8-3.  Senior Kara Schrock (Middlebury, Ind./Northridge) dominated her match 8-1 at No. 2 singles. Sophomore Chelsey Person (Bellefontaine/Bellefontaine) and senior Rachel Yoder (Harrisonburg, Pa./Eastern Mennonite) defeated their opponents with scores of 8-0 and 8-1. Freshman Brittany Zeigler (Telford, Penn./Christopher Dock) won her match 8-2, while Senior Stephanie Welch (Berne, Ind./South Adams) won by default  The doubles pairs of Cherry/Schrock, Person/Yoder, and Ziegler/Doan all won their matches to finish off the scoring.

Bluffton will return to action when they travel to Tiffin on Tuesday, September 27, with the match starting at 3 p.m.
